Prime Ministry Science Board Established to Provide Scientific Guidance to Government Decisions

Savaşan, Coordinator of the Prime Ministry Science Board, said: “The Prime Ministry Science Board was established to provide scientific guidance to government decisions during the pandemic.”.

Prime Ministry Science Board Coordinator Ahmet Savaşan, He noted that the committee was established “to provide scientific guidance to government decisions during the pandemic process”.

In his written statement, Savaşan stated that there were attempts to make polemics about “who the Prime Ministry Science Board consists of and how it works” and continued as follows:

“The Prime Ministry Scientific Committee shall be established by the Scientific Committee of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which operates in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and which has a Faculty of Medicine or Faculty of Health Sciences within its body or which has experts in the relevant field in its staff. Eastern Mediterranean University, European University of Lefke, Near East University, University of Kyrenia, Cyprus International University, Girne American University Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Kaya Süer (Infectious Diseases Clinical Microbiology), Prof. Dr. Refik Mas (Internal Medicine and Geriatrics), Prof. Dr. Nedime Serakıncı (Medical Biology and Genetics), Prof. Dr. Songül Vaizoğlu (Public Health), Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ (Medical Biology and Genetics), Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ (Public Health). Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ (Medical Microbiology - Virology), Assist. Assoc. Prof. Ayşe Seyer (Medical and Clinical Microbiology), Assist. Assoc. Prof. Emine Ünal Evren (Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology), Assist. Assoc. Prof. Prof. Hakan Evren (Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology), Assist. Assoc. Prof. Mehmet İlktaç (Medical and Clinical Microbiology), Assist. Assoc. Prof. Özge Türkeri (Medical Biochemistry) and Assist. Assoc. Prof. Tevhide Ziver (Medical and Clinical Microbiology).

The committee, which was formed upon the invitation of the Prime Minister and the assignment of the universities in question and coordinated by me, also included Pharmacology Professor Dr. Ibrahim Benter and Molecular Genetics expert, MP Dr. Jale Refik Rogers is also on duty.

The evaluations of the committee are recorded in minutes and decisions are put in writing and then submitted for the signatures of the committee members. Signatures are obtained with wet signatures or digitally, as was the case for many meetings during the pandemic, and decisions are then submitted in writing to the Prime Minister. It is respectfully announced to those interested and the public.”
